Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship across du

The du Innovation Lab (i-lab) is a resource for any student at du interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. Our programming is designed to help students grow their ventures at any stage of development and covers a wide range of disciplines.

U5GIG’s

  • U5GIG will be a consortium of industrial and academic organizations in UAE as well as telecom infrastructure/chipset vendors and test equipment suppliers.
  • We will build a UAE 5G and IoT innovation lab at DSO at Techno Hub 2 to be the core of the U5GIG.
  • du and other consortium members plan to use their expertise to define and develop a global 5G network that will radically change lives across the UAE.
  • Allowing universities and industrial organizations from across UAE to work together to participate in the development of the 5G and IoT, and for academia and industry to test applications and technologies in a real-world setting.
  • du as well as other consortium members will jointly supervise a 5G and IoT research programs (M.Sc./PhD) with the major UAE universities and based on carefully selected practical research topics.
  • Accordingly, UAE shall contribute and participate in the standardizations and development of 5G/IoT in forum such as 3GPP, ITU, and GSMA.
